'Flow' focuses on the need of the individual to save water as climate change and population growth creates a water shortage across most communities in Australia.

Luella Price explores the critical relationship we have to this precious commodity in her exhibition Flow opening at the Noosa Regional Gallery 4 May, 6 pm.

Luella explores the medium of gelatin, which as like water, can support life. Gelatin captures water and transforms it from its flowing, moving nature and transforms it into a solid shape that fills space. Her gelatin sculptures represent our sense of loss, and express our need to control the flow of water in our lives.

The sculptures will take on the shapes of the containers that we use to capture and contain water for our every day uses. They will solidify the liquids that would normally escape down the drain and out of our lives.

At the opening of the exhibition, the gelatin sculptures will begin as solid shapes that have text relating to the subject of water loss printed on their slippery, shiny surfaces. But as the days progress, the gelatin sculptures will transform and erode with the application of heat. They will pool and drip down into other shapes creating new artworks that express our lament.

This metamorphosis will take place over the five-week period of the exhibition.
